Activities

Chamboree 2010 will offer hundreds of activities including old favourites and new opportunities to try something different. There are 8 Activity Zones, 6 of which are half-day Zones, 2 of which are full days but split into two distinct half-day areas, meaning that every half-day Scouts will undertake new, different and exciting activities. Everyone who attends Chamboree 2010 will amongst other badges and awards be able to gain their Adventure Challenge. And don't forget our special badge for Chamboree 2010 - the Chamboree Knight (see below for more information).

On the sub-menu you will see these pages contain information on the Daytime and Evening programme. The arrivals weekend (Sat 31 July and Sun 01 August), specific programme information for the Beavers Fun Day, Cubs Adventure Day and for Explorer Scouts who have a tailored programme.

New for 2010!

  • Mount Olympia Climbing Tower (within Olympia Zone)

Chamboree Knight

In your Chamboree camper booklets you will find a number of Challenges to undertake during the week on each Activity Zone, in your Sub-Camp and during the Evening Entertainments. If you complete the required number of Challenges you will gain the Chamboree Knight badge and will officially become a Knight of the Sub-Camp.

The Activities Team

Dave Hopley, Director of Activities and his team look after the delivery of Programme from dawn till dusk.

  • Energy Zone, led by Nick Latham (Warrington East)
  • Global Zone, led by Phil & Liz Cusick (Macclesfield & Congleton)
  • Olympia Zone, led by Adam Forshaw and his deputy Rob Allen (Cheshire Network)
  • Power Zone, led by Derek Mangan (Ellesmere Port & Neston)
  • Skill Zone, led by Eddie Johnson (Warrington West)
  • Urban Zone, led by Andy Little (Mid-Cheshire)

Activity Groups

There are 10 Activity Groups, you group will be indicated on the back of your Chamboree photo ID card, there will be copies of the timetable in your Sub-Camps and around the site telling you what Zone your Group is on and when. You can download a copy of the full timetable by clicking here.

NB: We will endeavour to keep your Group together, however large Groups may be split into smaller “activity contingents” to enhance their experience and to create better opportunities to meet other Scouts from around the world.
